2003 Burgundy & Terroir: A Soil On the Face of Winemaking, Brian Lynch, Wilson-Daniels, LTD.
$39.00
Until recently, wine cellars were foremost distinguished by their selection of Burgundy and Bordeaux; if you had serious money and collected wine, that’s what you drank. It’s been that way since the time of Charlemagne. Terroir is not a political threat, it’s a geological reality. Does soil really play a large part in the flavor of wine? How do different soil types express themselves and what effect does it have on the wine itself. We will taste 6 wines from the 2003 vintage from different areas in Burgundy and discuss the effect Mother Nature has on God’s thirst quenching gift to mankind. Gevrey Chambertin, Nuits St. George, Aloxe Corton, Volnay, Monthelie, Mercurey
