Dozens of regional and national cookbook authors, chefs and wine experts have signed on for this year's third annual Epicurean Classic Sept. 14-16 in Traverse City.
A benefit for the Great Lakes Culinary Institute, the event features more than 60 classes, tastings, seminars, receptions and dinners, most priced $25 to $39 each.
Participants this year include authors Molly Stevens, Cheryl Jamison, Jennifer McLagan and Max McCalman; chefs Donald Barickman of Magnolias in Charleston, S.C.; Marcus Samuelson of Aquavit in New York, and Takashi Yagihashi, soon to open Restaurant Takashi in Chicago.
Michigan participants include chef Brian Polcyn of Five Lakes Grill in Milford; owner Pete Peterson and chef Jeremy Kittleson of Tapawingo in Ellsworth, and Ari Weinzweig of Zingerman's in Ann Arbor.
