The James Beard Foundation called Takashi the Best Chef In the Midwest just a couple years ago for the incomparable work he did at Tribute in Detroit. From there, he moved onto Wynn Las Vegas's award-winning Okada, before heading back to Chicago where he's putting the final touches on Restaurant Takashi, a marriage of Japanese and French culinary influences. For this Great Chefs Dinner in Traverse City, Takashi has called upon a spectacular line-up of chef friends to contribute: Michel Briand, pastry chef at Ambria and Mon Ami Gabi in Chicago, Tim Voss, executive chef at Forte in Birmingham, MI, and Jeff Rose, executive chef at the Big Rock Chop House also in Birmingham. Will Traverse City ever recover from such a meal? This dinner is limited to sixty-five diners. Prestigious Old World wines will accompany each course. All proceeds will go to the Great Lakes Culinary Institute Scholarship Fund.
