Friday, September 15 - 12:00 pm Discovering Paso Robles' Rhone Renaissance, Jim Yale, Treana Winery $39.00 Paso Robles has done the impossible: turned the heads of esteemed winemakers in Hermitage, Cote Rotie, Chateauneuf du Pape, and other southern Rhone regions. Due in part to the similarities in geography and geology. Jim will discuss the characteristics of each of the major varietals grown in these regions (Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier), and how they are used in winemaking. Yale will also compare the wines of the Rhone Valley (North to South) and the wines of Paso Robles and the Central Coast of California. Some of the Rhone wine producers you’ll taste include: Chapoutier, Guigal, Jaboulet, Beaucastel, and Rayas. Some of the California wineries we’ll examine include Tablas Creek, Treana Winery, Austin Hope Winery, Eberle Winery, and Garretson Wine Company. Type your name in the field below.
